I started reading this Murakami book to Kent tonight (very funny) and he left for maybe 2 minutes to look next door for a package they were waiting to be delivered. In those two minutes, I fell asleep - book suspended mid-air - and dreamed that my mother-in-law was a sweet potato. In order to keep her sane we had to peel her.
So her body was sitting close to my front right. That part of her was kind of wispy and see-thru and just sitting silent, staring at me. The other, soul or mind part of her, was small - maybe 12 inches, laying face-down as though on a table and I started to peel her with a vegetable peeler. It was making me uncomfortable because I thought it was going to hurt her. Then, the dream started to fade into a momentary confusion of if we indeed needed to peel her or not and Kent was coming through the door. I told him I started to fall asleep - to his response of "What?! I was barely gone for like 2 minutes?"
Funny.
